Anyone has used .Net and iSeries?

I just read this link but still not sure which provider to suggest to my manager:

Has anyone done a .Net application going against iSeries? There are 4 providers , seems like "IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries" is best but wanted to see if anyone else has any thoughts on this.

We're currently using ODBC, but as this is unmanaged code we plan to use the ADO.Net provider in the future.
All our iSeries access is via our own custom wrapper. If we decide ADO.Net is the way forward, all we have to do is recompile the the wrapper class and plug the .dll into the existing applications
