The attached screen shot shows what looks like several unknown hosts connected to my AS/400. I know little about networking, but this does not look right to me. Can anyone explain how these connections were made?

I'm not sure what you are asking. How were the connections were made? Someone connected to them. What are you looking for, here? Do you want information on how to write a program that connects to them?
Obviously, we could not know how/why someone else chose to do something. -
