  • Reading journal entries (field 'JOCCID' usage ?)

    Hi to everyone,

I need to get journal entries by DSPJRN command between two specific time-stamp (JOTSTP) , without considering that entries that are regarding an open commit cycle.
At the next DSPJRN, all entries not before considered (open commit cycles) should be instead included.

I'd also like to understand if I could use the field JOCCID for this, while reading the list of journal entries.

    Could you help me ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Regards,

This may not be a direct answer to your question, but you may check out if the UDTF Display_Journal (PTF for V5R4, 6.1, 7.1) will deliver what you want in an easier way

Using SQL to Interrogate Journal Objects

      Thanks Brigitta,

it's a very interesting function you showed me.

Anyway I was asking about a suggestion in order to ensure a read of journal entries, without loosing any entry, but also without considering, at a specific time-stamp, entries that are not yet confirmed by a commit cycle closure.
This by a DSPJRN cmd or by a SQL function.

I get these old programs hacked from the internet many moons ago. If you like you can tweak them easily to fit your own needs.
