  • DSPF and VALUES keyword with CA function key

    Hello,

I don't tend to use VALUES for my input-capable fields. However, it was my understanding that pressing a CA function key takes priority over the VALUES keyword. If I input a wrong value and press enter, I get an error message. If I then try to use a CA key (in this case F3/F12) without correcting the value, I still get the error message. Is this normal? Why is the system testing the value of the field when I've pressed a CA key?

Note that I don't get the error if I input a wrong value but then press the CA key without pressing enter first. Isn't the whole point of CA keys so that it takes priority over system controlled checks?

    Thanks.

Edit: The keys were declared as CF. Can a mod delete this topic? Thanks.
