  • FTP adding a hex '0D' during MGET??

Just opened a case with IBM. Retrieving a simple text file from an FTP site... <filename>.tab

The file already has hex '0d' '0a' at the end of each row/record/line (whatever)... FTP is actually inserting another '0d' before the existing '0d0a'.

Of course, if I use the BIN command this goes away... however, why on earth would FTP do that?? Anyone seen this before?

I've seen it...I think there is a fix using CCSID??? I just can't remember where I saw it.

    Sorry

IBM had me take a CMN trace on the ethernet adapter... they're trying to say that the FTP server is adding the character before we even get it. I'm not quite buying that since I can use a PC software (WSFTP PRO) to download the same file and it looks just fine.
I'm going to use the BIN mode of transfer... hopefully that won't have any undesireable side-effects.
