        If you have a dog & ever thought of moving to Canada:
        Canadians can deduct a number of things from their tax software, but I bet you didn’t know that dog food is tax-deductible in Canada.
        I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick @#%@#%@#%.....and I'm all outta bubble gum !

          If the food I eat isn't tax deductible what makes people think that the dog food I buy is?.....lol

            I have a dog. I buy dog food. I have NEVER been able to deduct dog food expenses for income tax.

            Nanaimo is on the west coast (north of Seattle). If you like rain and fog, I can't think of a better place to be. Of course as a contractor, you will have to pay your own health insurance, employment insurance, Canada Pension Plan, etc. A a socialist country we get a lot of stuff provided by the governmnet, but the costs are paid from taxes. At least in the US you can claim mortgage interest.

              Looks like you have to own a farm to take advantage of the tax deduction:
