  • RDi is maintaining 80 positions.

I cannot seem to get RDi to allow QRPGLESRC to go beyond 80 positions.

I created a new source file at 132 characters called QRPGLESRCX. and copied source into the file.

I then opened the source file in RDi and the expanded length is available.

If I rename the new source file by dropping the 'X' and it is now QRPGLESRC, RDi shows only 80 characters.

    Has anyone seen this?

Sometimes technology makes me feel so much like a dunce.

    Just curious.
What is the record length of the source file QRPGLESRC?

    Try
    DSPFFD QRPGLESRC
and check the length of the field SRCDTA

I just opened RDi. I cleared the cache again, like I had yesterday and now it shows the correct size.

so it was just an issue with cache I guess. Sure drove me crazy.

I just ran into this problem today. I recreated a source file someone make too short but RDi refused to cooperate. Clearing cache was the ticket. Thank you

I have seen this. RDi caches source file lengths, and it does not seem to ever check if the file has changed once it's cached. I assume because source files so rarely change, normally it's only source members that change.
