  • RDi 9.8.0.2

Has anyone experienced any issues with 9.8.0.2 ?

    Here's what I'm encountering:
    • I upgraded my RDi to 9.8.0.2 on Windows 11 (I downloaded the upgrade and used “Install New Software”. I was at 9.8.0.1).
    • The upgrade did not seem to preserve my configurations and settings. (The workspace did not change)
    • I reimport my configurations and settings.
    • I edit an RPGLE source through LPEX Editor (profile “seu”). My Parser Style preferences do not apply, and the Outline is generated.
    • I go to Preferences|LPEX Editor|Appearance and find the Pallette set to "eclipse".
    • I change this to my preferred Pallette - "black". This restores my Parser Style preferences, but the Outline disappears and no longer works (Outline’s Refresh option is grayed out).
    • I close out of the source, and open a different source.
    • The Pallette goes back to "eclipse", removing my Parser Style preferences, and the Outline generates. I again switch the Pallette back to "black" and again my Parser Style preferences come back but again the Outline disappears.
Did I miss something somewhere ?

I recently upgraded from .0.1 to .0.2, I did not get those issues.

One thing I will note though: "Outline’s Refresh option is grayed out" - I see this a lot, when RDi has parsed the source member not not yet downloaded and parsed all the /copy members. So I wonder if this perhaps indicates that your issue, whatever it is, has cleared the workspace cache, requiring RDi to redownload stuff?

To clarify - I see the Outline Refresh button greyed out a lot, because our shop makes heavy use of /copy members, and there isn't a particualrly fat network pipe between end users and the test/dev IBMi. (And I think the IBMi does not provide as much resource to RDi handler jobs as it perhaps should). So it takes a while for RDi to download and parse copy members.
