Handling special UTF-8 characters such as
- Unsupported diacritic characters outside ASCII x?00?-x?7F?
- The Euro Sign
- Data that origins from programs such as MS Word (smart quote encoded)
in RPGLE/EBCDIC can be a challenge. I have therefor written some new subprocedures that I have included in powerEXT Core Version 4.6 that is able to deal with such encodings by either replacing specific characters to an EBCDIC equivalent or converting them into a common character such as a blank.
