  • Performance issues after upgrading to V6r1

    Hi,

In our organization, we upgraded the system from V5R3 to V6R1 (6 months back). Since then, performance of EOD batch jobs have gone down. All the nightly batch jobs took 30 minutes more of their usual execution time. For example, if a job gets over in 1 hour, now it's taking 1 hour and 30 minutes. And it happens across all the jobs for the past 6 months. Now we are trying to find out the root cause for this.

Do we need to apply any patches or PTF to overcome this performance issue?

If someone had come across this scenario, can you please share your thoughts/experience?

    Regards,
    Surya

V6R1 has been out for a couple of years now. You should have installed the latest cumalative when the OS was installed. If you didnt, you'd probaly be having more issues than just performance.

Other than that, based upon what you describe, it sounds like a memory configuration issue. Take a screen shot of WRKSYSSTS while one of those batch jobs are running after an elapsed time of about a minute, and let's see what it says.
