Terms: Access is provided via the internet, no VPN is needed. Connect directly to the partition. We offer sercure conenction to your partition with an SSH tunnel utilizing the free terminal emulator putty and 5722-SC1 on the partition. Sorry SMTP/POP/IMAPI and other mail protocols will not be allowed. If you need a mail server for development, we can work on that with a special quote. A three month minimum is required on all orders. After the first 3 months billing will be done monthly. Performance will be monitored and changes made as needed. We will be doing periodic back ups of the shared partition but we expect you to use Save Files and ftp them to yourself for back up. (It's only your own work anyway) Production work loads and commercial development (building software for resale) cannot be allowed due to our agreement with IBM. (If you need to do this vist iInTheCloud in the menu to the left) Shareware and open source developers are welcome. Using the system to build and/or deliver educational material is not only OK, but welcomed, that's what we are all about! (just let us know so we can properly notify our sponsors)

Re: Access to IBMi in the CLOUD....Yes I said CLOUD
Hey, we welcome Dr. Franken in the world of AS400 erm IBM i hosting - it's a nice business with a low number of good people running the boxes.
But on the other hand - cloud? 30 years ago, we named this host centric computing, now we go to cloud. But we at RZKH are below earth, no clouds, but security
Re: Access to IBMi in the CLOUD....Yes I said CLOUD
We host www.partner400.com and www.systemideveloper.com on Dr. F's cloud service and are very happy with it. It is sooooo nice not to have to worry about PTFs and saves and hardware upgrades and ... Well you get the picture. I'm a software guy - more than happy to leave hardware stuff to folks who enjoy that kind of thing!
Should be moving to new Power 7 hardware soon and I won't have to lift a finger. Joy joy happy joy!
Re: Access to IBMi in the CLOUD....Yes I said CLOUD
That is pretty cool... IBM's VLP is nice too for short duration stuff (unless you like having to create new reservations all the time)... Holger has a fantastic basic free service as well!
It's nice to see lots of options available for folks to get access to systems for tinkering and development.
