PDF output via System i Navigator

Hello -

We just upgraded to V6R1M0 finally.

I noticed in System i Navigator in basic/printer output, that you can right click on a spool file and there's an option to convert it to PDF and email it to someone. However, when I try it, it tells me that I don't have a printer configured for PDF.

I glanced through the IBM website in the V6R1 area and can't find any documentation. I'm sure it's there somewhere.

Has anyone gotten this to work, or can point me to the documentation to configure this?

A lot of my key users are very comfortable with Navigator so it would be great to show them this new resource.

You would think it would, and it might. LOL

I am not sure what printer type is needed for the PDF stuff.

you need infoprint server installed

You can create the pdfprinter on the fly (click on create printer)
I just tried it and failed on error PQT1053

Cause . . . . . : An error caused PSF to be unable to start the IPDS to PDF
transform on device PDFPRINTER. The reason code for the error is 1. Reason
codes have the following meanings. 1 - No PDF exit program is registered for
exit point name QIBM_QPQ_TRANSFORM and exit point format name XPDF0100 with
program data of "IPDS PDF".

I don't have infoprint server installed

I went to our licensed programs and I don't see Infoprint. I wonder if this is a software product that I need to buy from IBM. I will check around some more. Thanks for the info!
