%replace in CLP

how I can replace a character with another in a CLP
for example in a string 'http://as400des:10031/CU/M?E=DC&U=W&D=MES&I=1712071172&M=DN&T=01' replace the '&' by '^&'

Just FYI, with the most recent PTFs the native built-in-Functions %TRIM, %TRIML, %TRIMR, %SCAN, %CHECK and %CHECKR where introduced in CL.
These functions behave in the same way as the RPG built-in-functions do.

PTF SE53451 - %TRIM(), %TRIMR(), %TRIML()
PTF SI49061 - %SCAN(), %CHECK(), %CHECKR()
