    Hi,

I have a CPYTOIMPF command in one of my CLLEs which i call thru SBMJOB. It had been running fine till now. When i run it today it errors out at the command with the message

Message: Alternative name for file QCP_P00002 not allowed.

Cause: Reason 3 - The alternative name could not be verified as a duplicate of other file's alternative names in library LIB1 because of problems with the
    system cross reference files.

Can anyone please explain why its happening and what is the alternative name its reffering to.

    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    KR

          ReachKrishna,

Try looking in the joblog. It contains the reason the copy ended.

            Re: Cpytoimpf

The system cross reference files reside in QSYS.
It's indicating that there is a problem with one of the files (probably starts QADBX) or the information in it.
It's unlikely the system files have become corrupted so my guess is that if you dig deeper in the job log you'll find the actual problem.

              Re: Cpytoimpf

As far as I could see in my JOBLOG this doesnt seem to be a program or data issue. It looks more of a system side issue. Also yesterday we had some power issues and our AS400 system went down for the whole day. It was brought up today moring and since then we are facing this issue.

Could this issue be because of this problem?

Okay thats a key piece of info we would have liked in the beginning

I would re- IPL the box this evening and if problems occur again call

                  Re: Cpytoimpf

I'll go with Jamie. It is now possible the file is corrupt. The IPL might fix it.

If not you have to go to IBM. Playing with the data in the QSYS files is just too risky.
