Constraint problem in Table

We have a table with 3 constraints. one of the constraints goes into Check Pending *yes even when the constraint is in enabled status. But once we disable the constraint to look into the file for the constraint violation data, the check pending goes back to *No. We are really confused about this. How can a constraints go to check pending *yes when the constraint is always in enabled status. also how does the check pending prob goes back to *no as soon as we disable it. Because of this we are job abends daily. Please help.
