IPL and Journaling

Good day folks,

One of the things I have had very little to do with over the years is journaling. However I am now working with a company that does capture data changes with journaling.

One of the issues they have had over the years is that the journal gets cleared whenever they do an IPL, which doesn't sound right to me. Is there a setting/setup that can be changed to prevent this? I've had a quick look around but nothing is jumping out at me.

Look at the journal attributes (WRKJRNA) and see what the settings are for the Manage receivers and Delete receivers parameters. To change the settings, use the Change Journal (CHGJRN) command.
