When we take an F15 on the Work with Journal Attributes command (WRKJRNA), it lists the receivers attached to the particular journal. Every receiver is associated with a number. When we looked upon the significance of the number, the following is given.
1) Within a chain(A Chain Identifies A Group Of Receivers That Are Contiguous Allowing The System To Process Entries Across Receivers Within The Same Chain.) , each newly attached receiver is given a receiver number starting with one and incrementing sequentially to 999.
2) When you have dual receivers, both receivers are assigned the same number.
We need inputs on the above two statements as we had the following issues
1) We had receiver numbers starting from 1 to 999 and after that we had receiver numbers from 1 to 1158 for the same journal. How is this possible?
2) We had receivers being assigned the same number. What is the concept of dual receivers?
