  • Finding Junk Value in Physical File

    Hi,
    I have a physical file which has a remarks field of legth200. The data comes in from another system which send alot of Junk data into this field.Is there any way I can remove this Junk data from the field.
    A program or query anything???

    well...you haven't given us much to work with here...what is the expected data? what is the junk data? is the junk data easy to separate from the real data? is the data in a fixed format? is the data in a delimited format? is the data XML? we'll help you, when you help us help you...

      Here are the details:

      File AE0017L1
      REF(NCREFFLE)
      A R AE0017PA
      A AEACTC R
      A AEPT#9 R
      A AEFUUN R
      A AEHSPC R
      A AERMKS R <==== Feld 200 Chars length

      This has junk data which due to which the program fails.
      The data can be anywhere withing in the 200 characters. Everytime I have to manualy look for the data and then delete it in orders to Process the data. I want to make a program throgh which I can simply delete the junk values only.

      Please let me know if you need some more information!!
