  • ASCII FILE with QDCXLATE and CPYTOIMPF

    Hi

I have got a file from convert to ASII on AS400.
All the words are the same and I can distinguish by eyes they are exactly the same.
However when i plot them on ULTRAEDIT for file comparision, they are all unmatched.

File A was using APT CPYTOIMPY export to IFS and get form IFS.
File B was convert to ASCII on Physical file by QDCXLATE and download of FTP. "BINARY MODE"

Any1 had such experience and what shall i do to make perfect match?

    Thanks
    Cheers everybody

What CCSID did you use on the CPYTOIMPF?

Another issue may be CR LF characters that were inserted by one process and not by the other. Those you couldnt see with your eyes. You would need to look at both files in hex to see them. Also, are your file lengths different? That should tell you that you have extra characters in one file.

Re: ASCII FILE with QDCXLATE and CPYTOIMPF

      Hi

On the cpytoimpf I used LF
      The ccsid is 935.
file length is exactly the same and I checked all data in the correct position.
How ever on ultraedit File A is on the ANSI.
      But File B is encoding(Mac).

When I click on ANSI File B turn to 1 long row. ....

      Thanks @@
