  • Creating Overlay with Color and Images

I am trying to create an overlay that has color text and color images and just have not be able to get it right. I can get it black and white but not color.

I create in word and print with infoprint generic 300 and 600 dpi afp printer using almost every conceivable setting combination in the printer setup. But when I try to use the full color option the overlay file generated just comes out blank/empty.

Hmmm.. I believe IBM only supports color when writing out to an actual AFP printer (as opposed to something like Host Print Transform). Could that be the issue, here?

I don't even get to the printing part, I generate the file out of word to import my overlay and that file is empty. It is only 1 kb and when opened in the AFP workbench viewer it is blank vs when I just use B&W the file is 250 kb or so and it can be opened and viewed in the workbench.

This is what I was following, http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docvie...d=nas8N1015133

Hmmm... not sure, then. I always generated my overlays in B&W because I didn't have a real AFP printer that could handle color -- so never really played with it. At my current job, I don't do much with printing anymore, so I haven't played with this stuff in years.

Sorry, I won't be much help. I'm curious though, so if you figure it out, please let us know what you found!
