  • What the heck is the HTTP crawler?

Just curious. I have been assigned the job of supporting a websphere application but know very very little about the configuration of the server side of Websphere. Wihle looking for info on restarting the HTTP server I came across something called the HTTP crawler. (Two commands: ENDHTTPCRL & STRHTTPCRL). I don't think this is the same thing as the HTTP server but wanted to know if anyone knows what it is.

Also, does anyone have a very basic introduction to how the whole HTTP/Websphere/AS400 server stuff is configured and or works? I need to get up to speed on this stuff.

    Thanks.

Can't help you with the web crawler. Sorry.

As far as the WebSphere Application Server, look at the LICPGM screen and tell us which version you are running. I can give you a link to the documentation for the right version if I know what it is.
