Folks,

I understood where i went wrong. Pretty much embarassed to explain it

Let me explain what i did wrong here . Step 5 is not needed if you have already done Step 3 ( D manual IPL) it would detect the DVD drive by default . I myself locked the drive and was searching if other partitions were locking it.

I guess i need to unlearn lot of things from other technologies while working with IBM i . Thats a tip for you all for this morning

5) Defined the alternate installation device and chose the Bus (SCSI controller)

6) Tried option 1 Install License code

I am getting the following error

Unable to allocate resource - Installation failed . I have checked on all LPAR profiles if the SCSI controller is used and none of the LPARs is using this

Any help ?
