  • Saving QUSRSYS

I want to include library QSURSYS in my daily backup. When I do so, files QAOKP01A, QAOKP04A, QAOKP08A and QAOKJP09A are not saved because they are in use by a job named QSERVER running in subsystem QSERVER.

Is there a command or API I can use to end and restart this job, or do I need to end and restart the subsystem?

    TIA

I believe that's the database server. So people making queries against your database from other computers will be running jobs that use that QSERVER subsystem. The jobs you have to end will therefore be on their computers, and could be just about anything.

Alternatively, you could use the save while active parameter SAVACT(*LIB) on the save command to back up the library while it is in use.
