  • Mapping to the IFS directory

    Hello,

At work we map to the IFS folders using Microsoft Explorer by //IP address/ifs but at home when I try the same technique with my 9401 150 I get the message after I put in my user name and password ' Unable to map to network directory'. I am using the Qsecofr user profile when I try to map but get the same message. At work we are on V5R1 and at home V4R5. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    David C

Re: Mapping to the IFS directory

    David,

Tis question is more suited for the Iseries system admin I have moved it (here)
The section you are posting in is for tip and techniques.........

Anyway you have to make sure that you have started the netserver.

Easy way to check is thru opperation navigator.

I am away from the system and dont remember how to start exactly

    STRTCPSVR ????

Re: Mapping to the IFS directory

You need to make sure Netserver is started.

The map is to //ipaddress/sharename. You should be able to browse to it with Windows.

If you can see the share, but can't connect -- Check your password. At V4R5 there was a problem with windows passwords that were mixed case. Try a password with all uppercase or all lowercase.
