  • Options on menu bar are disabled - why?

I have a user in a remote location (of course) that is having printing issues. Her printouts are going to a printer on LPT1 but she doesn't have a printer attached to her computer and she has her windows default printer setup correctly (which is where she wants print screens to go. I thought easy to fix, go under file, print setup.....blah, blah.

But she does not have all the options on the menu bar. she has File, Edit, Communication. She doesn't have all the options under there either, for example under Communication she only has Connect and Disconnect.

I thought maybe she was using some weird emulator, but as far as I can tell she's using the normal AS400 client access (what is it called nowadays?).

    1. How can I confirm what she is using? or does that not matter?
    2. Where do I look to give her back the missing options on the tool bar so she can get to the printer setup? that is if they're really missing.

Any ideas are more than welcome! I am here by myself today and dont want to have to call someone else to ask them.

    thanks!

I did find a 'menu bar customization utility' under IBM Iseries Access and she didn't have all the options under file. We restored the default, and saved the session, but when she closed the session and restarted it the options are not there.

Does she have enough Windows authority? Many CA options are not available to "standard" users.
