  • Started with websphere toolbox

    Hello dear ISeries friends,
I just startded with websphere and discovered the numerous 400 componants inside the IDE.
IBM help is not clear regarding the toolbox componants.
    My questions are:
    - which DB componants are better to use to setup connexions .
    - what is the reliable process
    - are there native drivers or only JDBC driver is used?

Could you tell me where I could find an example representing a connection object linked with some resultsets also linked with DBGrid componants

    Many thanks for your help
    Regards

    Re: Started with websphere toolbox

Are you talking about the "IBM toolbox for Java"? This is either the jt400.jar that you can find on the IFS or the open source version JTOpen.jar which you can get from sourceforge.

If you just want an example of a JDBC connection using either of the toolbox jars then try this page.

If you just want to browse the documentation and see what it can do then try the official site:

    or the JTOpen sourceforge page.

Is that what you were after?

Which version are you using? From what I can recall, different versions came with different connection providers.
