    Microsoft Virtual PC 2004

Virtual PC 2004 is a powerful software virtualization solution that
allows you to run multiple PC-based operating systems simultaneously
on one workstation, providing a safety net to maintain compatibility
with legacy applications while you migrate to a new operating system.
It also saves reconfiguration time, so your support, development,
and training staff can work more efficiently.

Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 Systems Requirements

Virtual PC 2004 runs on: Windows 2000 Professional SP4,
Windows XP Professional or later, and Windows XP Tablet PC
    Edition or later.

Re: Microsoft Virtual PC - FREE

I know you are all following this saga....so.......

I loaded up UBUNTU linux in virtual window last night and all is well.

So what that means is On my underpowered play PC (XP pro) I am now running
both Windows Server2000 and UBUNTU linux.

To really play with virtual PC you need about 2 GIG of memory.
You must assign memory when you create your virtual drive
and available memory is checked as you fire each on up.

My next course of action is to get my "real" PC back up and running then
reload virtual PC as well as Server 2003 with one UBUNTU session and I will
take my copy of XP pro and load it a couple times and join all three virtual
PC's to my Virtual 2003 server.... Now doesnt that sound like a whole bowl of
        big-o-nerd soup?

**Note when you load UBUNTU in the virtual world there are a couple of things
that you need be aware of.....1 the video takes a bit of tweakin and the one that
got me was when your loading linux in the virtual PC when it comes to formating
LINUX shows the entire hard drive as the area to format...so it took me a couple
of courage pills before I actually said "Okay what the HEll..Do it"
well happily.... though it said it would format the entire drive it only formated its
        own virtual drive area....

If anyone interested in playing around with this let me know.....
you can get some good trainning on networking...
