hi friends,
I want to rename a field of physical file. I've used the command RENAME(field name). But it is showing syntax error. I want to read a pf thru RPG. what i've to do?

Hi, the Rename in RPG if to rename the physical file's record format from one to another.

Use the PreFix(Fl_) on the F spec.

For example this will put FL_ in front of all fields.

The old ugly way is to use an "I" spec to rename certain fields.
