Anyone have experience deploying Blackberry applet OTA-
Over the Air (ie: via web)?

I am stuck on server configuration - .htaccess and contents of cod/jod files.

Not using BES here.

From reading manual & internet forums (and of course the internets are never wrong!) I understand that I can simply post a cod file (application file) and jad (manifest file) to a Apache server with appropraite types defined (see below), then point the BB to the jad file & it will load to BB desktop.

AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
AddType application/java-archive jar
AddType application/vnd.rom.cod cod

sorry buddy Im lame and use the BES... I just create a folder on the server and I have options to push whatever I wish down...

I would look into this from a security point...
I can lock down &/or erase a blackberry from space.
also create unique policies by user/group the list goes on...
a side effect is that the blackberries run thru websense so we
can control those sales drones hitting those "sports" sites....

I know this doesnt help you now, but maybe help sell managment
on the server just for security reasons alone.
