  • Executing PC .exe files in the IFS

    Hi everyone,

I have some trouble with executing PC .exe files which are stored in the IFS of our iSeries.

If the user uses certain options in the iSeries Application an exe-file in the IFS which the users reachs via the company network is executed which then (for example) opens the webbrowser. Until recently we had only Workstations which used as operating system windows XP and terminal emulation for working on the iSeries. The .exe file then uses the local client environment of the pc to run the exe. In the course of upgrading the software the first PCs with Windows 7 are in use and now executing the .exe file from the IFS does not work anymore.

I pressume it is a setting or a change in the pc operating system and that windows 7 works somehow different then windows xp does. I do not have any ideas where to start to fix this issue - i tried to run everything on the pc as admin to make sure that it is not a matter of access privileges, but that did not fixed it.

    Does someone has any ideas?
