I have never understood the mentality of a programmer who ceases bothering to learn. I have taken to heart the words of a manager we worked with to train his Java programmers in RPG. He had given up trying to hire good modern RPG programmers because "They come to me claiming 20+ years experience - but it is really more like 3 years experience repeated 7+ times". Sad but true.
