  • Identifying when Ctrl key is pressed

Good afternoon. Is there a way to know when the user presses the left or right CTRL key? I've played with VLDCMDKEY, but it doesn't fire for the CTRL keys. Other keys, like HOME and CLEAR, have their own keywords but is there an equivalent for CTL? Thanks muchly.

I don't think the 5250 data management will trap the ctrl key being pressed as that action does not trigger a send of the data stream to the host. CTRL is usually combined with other keys for a specific option. Keyboard mapping in ACS for example.

I could be mistaken and hope someone else chimes in.

I think Alan is correct - it is a modifier key that has no code by itself. You could possibly map it to something in the emulator but even that may not work.

Thank for your responses, Alan and Jon. I think you're correct. It was worth a try.
