Can you explain the exact differences between RPG III and RPG IV.

Does RPG IV implies to only ILE program?

Second part first;
RPG IV does not imply ILE. You can create a program straight from RPGLE code, or make *Modules then make Programs or Service programs.

First part;
RPG III Versus ---> RPG IV

1. 6 character fields -->
   10 character fields from files, ever larger for internal vars.
2. no date support -->
   several built in functions to handle dates with ease.
3. fixed format -->
   Free format, allows you to indent and better lay out code.

There are others that people will chime in on, but these 3 alone are the reasons that I would never touch RPG III again.
