How to convert AFPDS Spool file to PDF on iSeries520

Dear Support Manager,

I am using iSeries 520, os ver v5r3. I tried to use CVT2PDF to convert spool file to PDF but that program not converting AFPDS or IPDS format Spool file and throwing the error that its not supported.

Is there somebody cane help me out. I will appreciate that help.!!!!!

There are numerous commercial solutions that can convert AFPDS/IPDS to PDF. If you are willing to try one out, I can recommend Print Transform. It is a native OS/400 utility that converts print data streams (including support for resource fonts and overlays) from and to a variety of printer formats including PCL, AFPDS/IPDS, PS, PDF, PDF/A, TEC, ZPL, IGP, DPL, TXT, XPS, RTF, HTML, BMP, JPEG, PNG, and more.

Hi msalman_ali,

Seems a lot of people having the goal to print to pdf
IBM provides free tool to convert to pdf.

For getting that to work you need the following licensed program installed: 5722IP1 (for V6.1). Even if that software is a keyed product you do not need to purchase a license, because you will only use the free pdf part.

With that licpgm installed you are able to convert any spool to pdf via a psf configuration object attached to an outq.

Isn't telling, though, that the only posts that guy can find to help him hawk his product are many years old? A little late to the game, me thinks.
