  • Missing QSYS2 Tables ?

IBM Documentation refers to QSYS2.SYSFILES and QSYS2.FILE_INFO.
But when I try to SELECT from them, I get "File Not Found"
We're on V7R4. Have they been replaced with something else ?

EDIT Function not working. SYSFILES and FILE_INFO show as not found.

Edit?! I don't think you want to edit that file.

Select works though on our system.

      Cheers,

I meant I couldn't edit my original post here. so posted a reply instead :-)
(quirky forum software...today I can edit)

I think I found what I need from other system files. Strange they don't exist on our machine.

Ah, OK. Well if it's any consolation, we don't have a FILE_INFO either.

SYSFILES is a view over QADBXREF - not sure why it would be missing on your system.

          Cheers,

Could it be an authority issue? Maybe it does exist but your system has unusually high levels of security for QSYS2 objects so you don't have permission to see them?

I can see other QSYS2 objects and query them without problems. Maybe it was removed/replaced at our current PTF level.
Not critical to anything I'm doing, but curious about it.

I signed on as QSECOFR and got zero results for
                wrkobj *all/sysfiles

I've seen situations where, due to disk errors, et al, the system files like the ones you describe disappeared.

The best thing would be to contact IBM Support and get them to help you fix it. I wouldn't try to do it yourself, unless you know what you're doing...

I'm on 7.3 and I don't see a SYSFILES view either, however there is a SYSTABLES view in QSYS2, check if you have that one on your system.

Yes, I have been using SYSTABLES.
                      Thanks

Looks like I need a "Technology Refresh" Enhancement PTF. (Didn't know there was such a thing). I will have to ask if we can get it.
                        Can I assume TR5 contains TR1 - TR4 objects ?
