Synchronize Flash Drive & PC

Does anybody know of anything that makes it easy to synchronize a Flash Drive and PC? Speficially:

1) Let's start off with the assumption that both of them are the same.
2) Now, let's say that I go to the library and create a file (called FileA). It now exists on the flash drive but not on the PC.
3) I get home and modify a file on the PC. The last date updated is different on the PC than the flash drive.

Is there anything that would be able to compare the flash drive & PC and tell me where the differences are?

This would only be necessary for stuff in MyDocuments and any subsequent folders.

Check out Sync Toy at Microsoft.com. You can let it sync folders on different devices or show you what it wants to sync.

There's also Microsoft Briefcase which has been around for ages. I use that for an external hard drive with no issues.

I remember briefcase from Windows 3.1! Is that really still going?

Absolutely! I've been using it for years, and as I mentioned before, have never had any issues with it. I'm not sure if it's installed with Windows by default or if it's optional. Might have to give SyncToy a look.
