  • Find/Replace in RDI

Whenever I try to search for text in a source member, as soon as I press CTL+F4, RDI displays the FIND/REPLACE prompt with the FIND box populated with the contents from the previous search and begins searching for that text. Often times, the FIND box is populated with text from a previous source member search. Is there something in preferences that will display the FIND/REPLACE box with the text blanked out and then let me populate the text and press NEXT before it starts searching.

There's a "Find Text" preference for "Incremental find dialog". If you uncheck it, it will let you type something else and wait until you press Enter or click Next before it starts searching.

Sorry about the multiple screenshots in the previous post.

I gave up trying to get it to just have one.

I tried this but what happens is that whatever I key in the FIND box of FIND/REPLACE is stored in PREFERENCES | FIND TEXT and what is stored there is used in the next FIND/REPLACE search
