Right click on your connection in navigator and select properties then the connection tab. Under the performance section, change "Where to lookup remote port:" to STANDARD. click on OK and restart Navigator. This forces navigator to use the standard port instead of doing a port lookup every time you try to do something. From my own use I've found that the response time is greatly improved and makes the program useful to use as it was intended.

On a similar line..Worked with jonas last night getting the Ops Console running on the 170. (It was my first )

Tom, that was where I got the info from. Didn't mention that in the OP because I wasn't sure about mentioning other forums on here. The other tweak was turning off the Task pad. I haven't noticed any major improvements by turning that off.
